Are there are a lot of bored hooligans in London?

In 2003 when David Blaine did his suspension stunt, instead of being ignored, he was attacked with fireworks, a hit golf ball, laser pens, and had large crowds stand there for hours just to shout insults at him. Even the media took a huge interest in him, trying to disrupt his stunt. He was even targeted by a racist, shouting go home yank, and vandalising his cage. Yet, when he previously did this in New York, he was ignored, nobody cared much and left him alone.
