Is Eastenders an accurate account of what real east end life is like?

I was sitting down one night as mother was browsing through the television channels and Eastenders was on, I had trouble understanding a word anybody was saying nobody was talking in the manner I am used to, they sounded like cavemen and they act that way fighting all the time! especially that Phil Mitchell person, are londoners really this barbaric? I say I shall warn mother never to plan a holiday in such a place filled with such hooligans!
