Why do Americans in Taiwan get so angry about Chiang Kai-Shek being a mass murderer?

They are angry because it is insensitive and cruel to honor mass murderers in the way that Mao Zedong is honored and revered in China. heck, I get angry about small time mass murderers such as Qaddafi, or even the idiot drunk driver that runs over a child with no remorse. Most logical and loving people are upset by such behavior. I cannot fathom why you would even question that attitude, unless you are a sociopath or mass murderer wannabe. Are you?
