Where can a teenager draw inspiration for a book?

I'm a 14 year old boy from the UK, if that makes a difference to anything, and I've always wanted to write a novel. I had pushed it aside for a little while, but my friend wrote a fairly short book and, although the book really wasn't that good, it brought the idea back into my head. My problem has always been that I have an almost completely average life and I find it hard to draw inspiration. All the guides online are aimed at adults. I was just wondering where I could draw inspiration from? The only strange thing in my life is that my mother and aunt died in a short period of time, so perhaps a murder mystery type novel? Don't let any hooligan teenager stereotypes distract from the fact that I am very serious about this and would be totally dedicated if your advice could give me that flash of inspiration.
