Hello, like many of us in the US, I find myself with huge debt but still want to have a nice place to live that accommodates me and my kids. The places that advertise Rent-To-Own listings locally all have an F with the Better Business Bureau here in California. Debt collector has failure to pay posted to my credit report?

I sent debt validation letter and they sent back a partial copy of a credit card statement with my name and a totally different address and city. 9 months later they had a Law firm send me a letter telling me to pay this or else. I disputed it with them and they have not sent anything back and stopped contacting me. I then disputed this with the credit bureau and they say I need contact the debt collector via phone. I have in the past sent debt validation letters to this collection agency asking for a signature to verify that this debt is mine as the address is NOT. If I am correct the status if limitations is up in Aug this year. But because I disputed this through the credit report it will stay now till June of 2012. What should I do? I have asked for validation several times and now they posted Failure to pay and that an agreement was made with them and I never went into an agreement as this is not my address and they have not shown proof to my knowledge that it is my debt. Me and my ex dated for a year and 3 months. He was my first true love, first everything. he was so special to me. We were like twins, same interests, same everything. Help with cover art on I Pod Touch?

so I really need help with my I Pod touch, it first started when I had my I Pod hooked up to my computer and there was this bar at the bottom of my I Pods library that is "AutoFill" and when I pushed it, it made copies of some songs, which I deleted and I was like whatever, that was stupid. But later when I went to go listen to music, the cover art for about half of my songs had been replaced with the cover art from one of my songs, confusing, i know. But the cover art that replaced the REAL cover art is the cover art from my MOULIN ROUGE! album, so now when I listen to " Marry you" for example, instead of seeing the cover art for Doo-Wops & Hooligans, I see the MOULIN ROUGE! cover art. I was just going to go on my computer and replace the cover art, but when I went to my I Pod's library on my computer, I left clicked on the song with the wrong cover art and clicked "see info" and went to the cover art section, but it won't let me click on anything, and it show the right cover art on THERE but it doesn't on my actual I Pod. Another problem is, I bought alot of songs on I tunes using my actual I Pod touch instead of on my computer, but when I connect my Ipod to my computer, all that purchased material doesn't import into my primary library. I tried syncing it, but nothing happened. I'm getting another I Pod for christmas, and I want to be able to put all those songs I bought on it, but I can't if they won't go into my library. Guilt and Anger - my dog died after getting neutered?

My dog was 12 yrs old. I brought him in to get him groomed(which is attached to vets)before I collected him they asked me to go in and see the vet. She said he was in pain and 'had' to have the operation to get neutered. He had lumps around his anus which bled sometimes or he scraped his bum along the ground. I knew that sometimes he was in pain and this was on my mind to bring him in. When she said this the lump in my throat. But I felt she was the vet and she knew best. So I said id think it over. Thing is I asked all my family n they were not really interested(family split up) although my dad said to leave him, but dad was sometimes old school mean so didnt really listen to him. I decided to go with it, they assured me they'd be watching him the whole time on a drip giving him oxygen etc..this didnt happen...My instingt told me he wasnt able for such an op, wasnt being walked enough and too old, however i felt id no1 to ask and felt silly asking people not everyone values animals(how v silly of me and this makes me so mad with myself) the night before the op i still wasnt sure - i told dad he was gonna decide when he came home from the pub - but unfortuately my brother turned up drunk banging on the door - he wasnt allowed in the house as he was too abusive etc..he wrapped on the door for hours until eventually we had to let him in - there was a row, my dog went into my bed for safety and peace - he trusted me. the next morning after v little sleep - i ordered my brother to bring the dog in for his app with the vet. I reluctantly went to work - v nervous ringing my brother to say im not sure about this but at like 10am that morning - they called me to say he was dead!!!!! I fel like the ground had been removed from underneath me - the worst thing that ever happened to me and iv had alot of bad things happen to me but i loved this dog to bits. he was walking and still eating he may have been in pain sometimes but no need to kill him. WHY DID THE VET HAVE TO REMOVE HIS TESTICLES SHOULD SHE NOT HAVE KNOW HE WAS TOO OLD FOR THIS! hi, i live in west virginia. my girlfriend and i have a 1 year old son together. through the last year we have been locked in mortgage limbo on our house, therefore our addresses were listed as different. we were summoned to a child support hearing in which we were told that child support would only be taken out for 2 or 3 payments(i cant recall which it was) as backpay.and when we got our addresses straightened out to come back and let them know, at which time they would cease taking payments out of my paychecks. that was in oct 2010. about this time we moved into our new house but were still stuck in mortgage limbo, meaning i couldnt change my employment status or risk messing up the loan. here is where the fun really begins. No payments were taken out of my paychecks until dec 10, 2010. the first payment of $148 was taken out dec 10, another of the same amount was taken out on dec. 24, 2010(i get paid every 2 weeks). neither payment was sent to the child support agency until dec. 28, 2010. My girlfriend and i thought, "hey its a one time thing, no big deal, at least thats all that they will take and now its done"...we were wrong. the next paycheck had the same amount taken out and once again was not sent to the child support agency, i then started recieving letters in the mail from the child support agency stating that i was delinquent on my payments. my girlfriend and i then went to the agency this same thing occured on every paycheck for the next 2 months. payments taken out of my checks by my employer, yet not sent to the agency. after repeatedly trying to phone the agency, we finally went down to the office. while there, we were informed that it wasnt just my checks, but my employer was not sending any other employee's child support payments in either. he was apparently up to thousands of dollars behind. they had already notified him by letter. also, while at this meeting they informed us that if we wanted to end our child support case when we got the money from my employer that we could. they told us they were leaving the case open until he sent the money in, that way their lawyers could handle it and we wouldnt have to seek outside consultation. that was in february 2011. he has never gotten it caught all the way up, so we have never been able to get the case closed. now he is over $700 behind again. i ask the managers where i work about it and they tell me i have to talk to the accountants, when the child support office calls the accountant they tell them that the owner does the child support, then when they call him he becomes aggresive and profane and hangs up. these payments were supposed to stop being taken out in february and its still happening. it wouldnt be as bad if the money were being sent in, because then my girlfriend could get it and we could pay our bills with it. but that's not happening and we are falling behind on our bills and everything else and all the child support tells us is they turned it over to their attorneys and if we havent got the money in 3 weeks to come and talk to them again. i don't understand what they expect us to do. we can't tell the utility companies to wait a couple weeks can we? the main problem,as i already stated, is that these payments arent even supposed to be being taken out of my checks. what can i do about this? the child support bureau is clearly not that concerned about it and we are running out of options on our money. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was sued but settled out of court but now i still owe what i was being sued for?

I was almost sued by my apartment complex for 7,000$ in back rent and there lawyer contacted via certified letter i contacted him back and said I don't owe this much because i have a letter stating i was living here rent free until a certain time due to it being section 8 this was ok. Shortly after the time where the letter says i need to start paying rent they sent me this letter saying i owed all the rent since i lived there. So i told the lawyer i'm willing to pay 3 months rent because that's all i owed really he then said he would talk to his client and see if that was ok. He called back said it was ok and we would settle out of court and he faxed me some letters saying i only owed 1800$ and it was to be paid by a certain time which hasn't passed yet. Now i'm getting letters in the mail from credit bureaus saying i owe 7100$ to this apartment, but we have an agreement i only owe 1800$.... What steps do i take now in getting this settled. Do i have any valid reasons or ways to sue them now? I would really appreciate some valid answers because the law isn't my forte and I am looking for knowledgeable answers. I can't deal with my brother anymore?

Extending Shingles on Roof?

I had to extend the shingles on the rear of my house yesterday. Water was going behind the gutter and soaking the fascia board (which i believe was leading to a moisture problem in my attic) I did so by following some advice and sliding some aluminum flashing under the last row of shingles extedning them out over the gutter. Im sitting here thinking about it and I think I may have extended them too far, (about 2" out). I ran a hose on the roof for quite some time and got a good flow of water going into the gutter, nothign splashing over. I just wanted to see if 2" was actually too far where it could cause problems, becuase I keep seeing 1/2" to 3/4" as being the normal distance. Not really looking forward to climbing back up there just to puch them in another inch. Thanks for any help.

Ok. So a judgment was put on my credit back in 2005 - I really didn't care if it was valid or not until now because I really need my credit for something. I get so anxious when my sister in law pops up with her 5 kids. First of all my house is tiny so adding 6 people in here already makes me anxious. Then her kids start arguing and yelling at each other, hitting each other, throwing my daughters toys everywhere. The older boys and the 6 year old girl will sit on toys meant for a baby.The almost 4 year old twins are left totally unsupervised since their mother sends them to my daughters room where they wreak havoc. Their mother is totally oblivious to all the screaming, running, crying, tantrums, toy throwing, etc. Friday me and my family went to Big Boys with them for her oldest sons birthday. She was totally ignoring their screaming, they kept getting up and walking around, climbing under tables. One of the 4 year olds wandered off and her mom didn't notice right away. My hubby's mom starts screaming at the 6year old and the whole time MY husband is trying to get the kids to stop acting like hooligans and to get his mom to stop screaming, while the kids mother is ignoring everything. We ran I don't know how many people out of the restaurant. I get so anxious and I feel like I've lost all control when she brings them all around. The messed up part is when their mom is not with them they do whatever we tell them to do.
